Whitney’s Wedding Style

Whitney Port is busy planning her Spring wedding to Tim Rosenman but until recently had yet to try on any wedding dresses!  The Bride-To-Be did a shoot with fashion blog Who What Wear last week, wearing gowns by J Mendel, Tory Birch, Reformation and Calvin Klein.

“I’m definitely a more modern bride.  I don’t feel like weddings need to be by the book,” Whitney shared.  “In terms of the dress, it is a fashion moment that I want also to be a reflection of my personal style esthetic—not what you’d see most brides wearing. My style philosophy: is be you, make your own rules.”

“I felt really sexy and comfortable in these looks,” Whitney says, “It wasn’t about following a tradition, it was about what makes you feel good in your own skin. I loved how relaxed most of the styles were. Comfort is key!”

Speaking of the beauty looks used on the shoot, Whitney said “My favorite beauty look was the blown-out hair and super natural makeup. I haven’t played around with my new haircut too much, so it was cool to see that it could be sort of ‘60s.”

“I originally had envisioned a Calvin Klein slip dress vibe, so the Reformation dress was fun to play with and see if I felt comfortable in that kind of look. I still don’t know, though! I could either go super relaxed and non-fussy or something really intricate and detailed—too many options!”

No matter what look Whitney eventually decides on for her big day, there’s no doubt the former star of theCity is loving the planning stages.  She explained, “I love being able to plan such a fun, love-filled event with my partner. It makes me so excited for our future, and is an awesome bonding experience.”

The Wedding Cake

Whitney Port and Tim Rosenman’s wedding might be just around the corner if the Bride-To-Be’s activities are anything to go by.

On Thursday, May 29, Whitney attended a cake decorating class at Duff’s Cakemix in West Hollywood.  She wore a peach colored lace dress, studded flat sandals and an open denim shirt.  Whitney has also recently had her hair cut into a much shorter shoulder-length style.

Hills2City are wondering if theCity star could be learning the skill to decorate her own wedding cake? Considering Whitney is a down-to-earth girl who spoke of a low key wedding, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise.

Further adding to our curiosity, Whitney posted the multicolored photo above to her Instagram on Thursday, May 28, with the caption,”Inspiration for cake decoration with @howyouglow @charmcitycakeswest #charmcityclasses @duff_goldman”

Whitney’s Wedding Weekend

While her fellow reality co-stars Lauren Conrad and Olivia Palermo are also engaged and planning weddings right now, something tells us Whitney Port’s wedding to Tim Rosenman is going to be a unique event.

Whitney and Tim, who are pictured here in New York City late last year are generally happy to stay behind-the-scenes.  Case in point, it’s hard to find many photos of them together!

The former star of theCity spoke to Brides magazine, revealing “We want to make it a full weekend celebration.  It’s just difficult finding a place that’s easy for everyone to get to and that won’t require our guests to spend a lot of money.”

Whitney shared that their main objective for the wedding is, “a fun environment for everyone.”

Tim is happy to let Whitney take the reins when it comes to most of the wedding plans, but he does have one stipulation, the bride-to-be says.  “Like one thing he wants is to make sure that there’s not a strict curfew where the party ends at 10, when it comes to design and décor, he will take a step back.”

So has Whitney found her dream dress yet?  She shares that she’s still looking, explaining, “It’s dependent on where the wedding is and what the dress looks like, but I don’t see myself going super glam.  I think less is more and I don’t want to worry about fixing my hair and makeup all night.”

Whitney’s Wedding Gown

Bridal Fashion Week just took place in New York; it’s something that follows on from the Ready-To-Wear collections, giving women the chance to see what the new trends will be in bridal fashion.

This season Bridal fashion is particularly exciting to Hills2City, because of the upcoming weddings of Whitney Port and Tim Rosenman, Lauren Conrad and William Tell, and Olivia Palermo and Johannes Huebl!

Whitney spoke to People magazine this week, giving her take on her favorite bridal looks.  Starting from the Oscar de la Renta design of the eyelet bikini and maxi skirt on the left, Whitney says, “The idea of a beach wedding sounds so beautiful to me, so I loved this one.  I like that it’s very simple, but still delicate, and not the traditional wedding dress.”

The second dress Whitney loved from Bridal Fashion Week was this Vera Wang slip dress. She explains, “I’ve been toying with the idea of wearing a classic slip dress and this look is just simple and comfortable. You don’t have to worry about anything or the fuss of a big ball gown.”

Whitney’s third idea was a different spin on the slip dress, featuring a more risque look. “Another idea I considered was trying the see-through trend, where you can see the bra and panties underneath. I didn’t know if that was okay for a wedding, but this dress shows you can make the look tasteful.  Plus, it features a lot of sequins and beading — I’m a sucker for anything metallic or sequined!”

The Naeem Khan dress to the right is probably the most traditional of Whitney’s picks.  She shares, “I’ve also been toying with the idea of wearing a veil, and this one makes me feel like I want one. It’s such a beautiful, intricate accessory, especially if you have a very simple dress.”

Whitney’s New Reality

Bride-to-be Whitney Port was out shopping in West Hollywood on Monday, March 31, shopping for homewares at West Elm.

The fashion designer wore a printed t-shirt, beige cardigan, skinny stonewash jeans and beige, studded ankle boots.

Although she hasn’t revealed everything about her wedding plans to X-Factor producer Tim Rosenman, Whitney has shared that the location is most likely not going to be either in LA or New York.  She explains, “Since I’m from here and Tim in from New York, we thought it made sense to meet on neutral grounds.”

Whitney continues,”He just wants everyone to have a really fun time and for it not to be too stuffy.”

She has also been speaking about her other love, fashion label Whitney Eve.  Talking to Refinery29 recently, Whitney shares, “It’s important to me to really have something for everyone in every collection.  While there is the 16-year-old who is going to wear some of our graphic tees and funkier prints, there’s the college girl who’s going to wear the moto jacket, there’s the girl out of college who is going to wear the cocktail dresses and blazers, and then there are women like my mom who will wear my sweaters and tracksuits! So, even though I want it to always feel fresh and current, I don’t want to put the line in a box and say it’s for any specific person.”

Although the former reality star hasn’t been on screen since her stint as a judge on Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model, Whitney is very happy working behind-the-scenes on her label.  She says, “In my opinion, I really feel like it’s bigger and better than ever,” she added. “It’s nice when something evolves, and you’re able to step back and feel proud of it.  I really think my biggest goal is having my collection on more and more girls. There’s nothing better for me than when I see girls wearing the pieces and making them their own.”

Taking It Slowly

One reality star known for her beatiful hair is Whitney Port, so it comes as no surprise that the Bride-To-Be was on hand to launch a Blo Blow Dry Bar in Washington DC this week.

On Friday night, March 21, Whitney posed with Blo Dupont owner Maha Sharma, wearing a long sleeved black cropped top, black and silver pencil skirt and black booties with a white leather fringe detail.

Whitney’s also been excitedly sharing some of her wedding details!  Speaking to US magazine recently, Whitney was asked if she still planned to design her own wedding dress?  She responded, “I’m not sure yet,” and explained that she might ask her Fiance Tim Rosenman for some advice, “I really trust his advice. He has really good taste so I’m always asking for it.”

Whatever her decision, Whitney says, “I don’t want to be too over the top.  Something simple and classic.”

As for the location, the Whitney Eve designer shares, “Right now we’re thinking destination wedding, but nothing is set in stone at the moment.  I’m taking things really slowly.”

Whitney’s Wedding Plans

Love was certainly in the air last week when celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss and Wedding Paper Divas threw a bridal shower for former star of theCity, Whitney Port and her fiance Tim Rosenman.

Held at Mari Vanna in West Hollywood, Whitney’s bridal shower gave her the chance to share her inspiration for hers and Tim’s big day.

The 28 year old fashion designer shared that she’s designing her wedding invitations in conjunction with Wedding Paper Divas, and that her sister Ashley will be planning everything else!  “I have so many ideas! I want to do everything, but not everything works together so it’s my sister’s job to make my mismosh something cohesive.”

Whitney shared that she and Tim are planning an outdoor destination wedding, for about 150-200 guests and it will likely be at the end of 2014.  “I’m pretty sure we know where we’re getting married, so the location kind of speaks for itself in terms of what kind of vibe it lends itself to. I just have so many different ideas so I haven’t quite pinned it all down yet.”

E!Online asked Whitney if she’d been sharing wedding planning tips with Lauren Conrad, to which Whitney replied, “No, I haven’t collaborated with her yet on anything, but we touched base when we both got engaged, just to share how exciting it is! It was crazy that it was around the same time.”

One way Whitney has of making her day unique is her decision to design her own wedding dress.  She explains, “My dress will just be a mix of everything, but something comfortable I don’t want a princess-y, cupcake-y gown. I’m more of a silk and laces type of girl, definitely not so much sparkle!”

As for what will make Whitney’s perfect wedding day, the bride-to-be says, “It’s just important for me that it’s sunny and everyone can just be casual, without it being underdressed. I want everyone to be dressed up and have fun with it, but I’m not the kind of bride that’s going to enforce black tie all the way.”

She continues, “I definitely want some neutrals, some pastels, but I think there’s going to be elements of everything I like. I feel like I could take elements from all different vibes and blend them together.”

Designing Woman

Along with former castmates Lauren Conrad and Olivia Palermo, Whitney Port also became engaged in 2013, to her boyfriend of a few years, Tim Rosenman.  In the latest issue of Domain magazine, Whitney opens up for the first time about her fiance Tim, and how she made over her Venice beach home to suit the needs of a newly engaged couple rather than a single girl.

Whitney shares, “It’s the first time I’m living with a boy, so the new space is suited to a more masculine look. My old apartments were pretty feminine, but this is more subdued and neutral.”

The couple’s style is described as ‘polished bohemia’, and it is explained that the house is divided into four main areas, “Bedroom, living room, screening room, and dining room/kitchen.”

“It’s really nice to have such a big open landscape with a lot of light,” Whitney goes on to say.
When asked for her advice on designing a space, Whitney shares, “I’m a clothing designer, so I guess it just comes naturally to me.  [Just follow] what your eye goes to.”

Whitney and Tim’s house hasn’t been totally converted though, as Whitney still needed room to house her impressive wardrobe and shoe collection.  The former star of theCity enlisted LA Closet Design’s Lisa Adams to contain her “expansive collection of apparel and accessories.”  The jungle wallpaper by Cole & Son’s was inspired by The Beverly Hills Hotel’s iconic banana leaf wallpaper, which Whitney explained, has “the same California vibe.”

On Saturday, January 25, Whitney shared a look at some of her summer 2014 Whitney Eve collection with fans via Instagram.  The pieces Whitney highlighted are a mix of neutral basics, cool prints and easy summery shapes.

Coffee Time

Celebrity Gossip

Whitney Port was spotted picking up two coffees from Coffee Bean and Leaf on Main Street in Santa Monica on Friday, September 6.

Whitney stepped out  post-workout wearing a white, cropped sleeveless tee and neon pink leggings.  She wore her hair up in a top knot and accessorized with white sunglasses.

Hills2City assumes the other coffee is for her boyfriend and workout partner, Tim Rosenman.

The Couple That Spins Together, Stays Together

Just because summer is ending doesn’t mean it’s time to put an end to those daily workouts; something that Whitney Port is adhering to anyway!

Whitney and boyfriend Tim Rosenman took part in a spin class at YAS Fitness Center in Venice, California, on Monday, September 2.  The couple then stopped for a bite to eat at nearby cafe,  Sauce On Hampton.

Tim and Whitney have theCity to thank for their meeting; Tim was an Associate Producer on the show.  After theCity finished up in 2010, Whitney started dating fellow reality star Ben Nemtin, but split after about 18 months together.  Tim and Whitney had kept in touch after the show ended, and according to a source at the time,  “have always had crushes on each other. Now they are full-blown together”

The source continued, “They have mutual friends from New York and L.A.. His sister works in fashion, too. They run in a similar crowd and seem to be really happy.”
