The wedding was held in Ojai, California, on Saturday, August 16, and also acted as a mini-Laguna Beach reunion, with Stephen Colletti and Dieter Schmitz in attendance.

Lauren Conrad & Lo Bosworth Are Beautiful Bridesmaids

Maura’s bridesmaids all wore differently styled cream full length gowns; Lauren wore hers with a pair of cream leather strappy heels, slipping on her sunglasses and Chanel bag for the Reception.

Now the countdown must really be on for Lauren’s own wedding to William Tell!  Hills2City can’t wait!

Derby Day Fillies

Lauren Conrad attended the Kentucky Derby this weekend, Sunday, May 5, with good friend and Paper Crown COO Maura McManus.

Both Lauren and Maura kept to the Derby tradition by wearing over-sized hats; Lauren posting the photos below of herself and Maura and the rest of the Derby hats on her Instagram.

Lauren kept her look quite summery and neutral for Derby Day, wearing a nude sleeveless dress with cream polkadots, and accessorized with an oversize nude fascinator in the shape of a blooming flower.

Lauren Has A New Man In Her Life (Again)

Zimbio/Lauren Conrad

Another day, another romance rumor for Lauren Conrad. This time Us Weekly is reporting Lauren is dating a 32 year old law student called William Tell. Those sneaky sources struck again and revealed that Lauren and William have been dating for the past few months and were set up by Lauren’s friends. Take this with a pinch of salt. Just because it’s Us Weekly, it doesn’t mean it’s true.

Airports are a hotbed for celebrity sightings. We must have posted more images of Lauren at LAX airport than any other place. So here is another set! Lauren arrived back home in Los Angeles, California on Wednesday, May 2. The eagle eyed among you will notice she is with her friend and business partner, Maura McManus.

The book cover for Lauren Conrad BEAUTY has been released. Lauren published the picture on her website and left a little message for her fans. She wrote,

“I cannot begin to tell you how thrilled I am about this book. Although it was truly a labor of love, it was well worth the hard work. My number one goal when putting Lauren Conrad BEAUTY together was to make it your go-to guide for all things beauty. This book is an opportunity for me to pass on all the things I’ve learned along the way (and share some of my missteps). In the book you will find everything from my favorite beauty tips and tricks to step-by-step tutorials and more. I hope you guys enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.”

The book will hit stores on October 16th.

Paper Crown: A Year in Review

Paper Crown

Paper Crown designer Lauren Conrad is giving us a sneak peak of her upcoming Spring 2012 collection, alongside her Holiday and Fall 2011 collections which were already released. Paper Crown is LC’s third contemporary clothing line that she has designed with her childhood friends Maura McManus and Gary Samuelian. Her first line, the Lauren Conrad Collection, was quite simple and launched in 2007 but was later put on pause. She then had her more affordable LC Lauren Conrad Collection which was sold exclusively at Kohl’s. Her latest project, Paper Crown, is more of a contemporary collection and debuted for Fall 2011.

The Fall collection was very feminine and romantic. Classic styles were used with an emphasis on fit and fabric quality, making each of the pieces perfect for the contemporary woman’s closet. The collection consists of clean lines, idealistic, maxi floral tiered dresses, cocktail dresses, and neutral colored menswear-inspired pieces. The color palette is very soft and neutral making everything wearable for all occasions.

Her Holiday collection consists of copious amounts of velvet, tiered ruffles, chiffon and lace. Some of the fabrics and prints are over used which makes the collection a bit of a miss. On the plus side, some of the velvet dresses will look great for Christmas parties as well as some of the staples she included like the blazer and high waisted skirt.

Lauren recently released look book for her SS 2012 collection. This collection features a similar neutral palette in creams, pinks, and browns. Dresses are shown with longer hemlines and looser tops tucked into shorts. The use of ruffles, kimono sleeves and high waisted pants and shorts are seen often throughout the collection. So far it’s looking very cute but it wouldn’t hurt to see a pop of color in a few of the pieces.

Obviously Lauren is still learning and some of the pieces will be looked over on the racks but seeing as this is only her third collection it seems to be a hit so far and we can’t wait to see what she has in store in the new year.

We picked some of our favorite looks from the Fall, Holiday and Spring look books. Which Paper Crown outfit is your favourite?

Lauren Is Mini-Mizing

While most Los Angeles residents like Audrina Patridge headed to Las Vegas, Lauren Conrad stayed local and partied at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, Friday, September 3.

Lauren was joined by her friend and partner in her Paper Crown fashion line, Maura McManus.  While Maura wore liquid leggings, a black top, cream blazer, and nude heels, Lauren’s legs were the star of the show.  Lauren wore itty bitty mini shorts, that were almost full hidden under her gorgeous striped, sheer, black and nude button down shirt.

Normally it doesn’t look good when girls’ shirts are hidden.  It usually means they are too small.  Shorts shorts are cool, but don’t make the public guess if you’re wearing any.  That being said, Lauren has miraculously pulled off the look.  Since the shirt is sheer, the shorts are recognizable.  The Mary Jane heels also give the look a more subdued feel.  She took things back up a notch with red lipstick, which she also wears well.

Colton Haynes Thinks Lauren Conrad is Cute

The Fashion Spot

Lauren Conrad attended a wedding on Sunday, July 31, and posted this photo of her besties all glammed up.  Lauren tweeted, “Wedding with my besties!! @mauramcmanus so pretty in @papercrownluvsu!”

We love this photo, it’s something that any close group of girlfriends can relate to.  Lo’s pink dress and Maura’s white dress are our favorites, but all five girls look stunning.

A couple of days later, Lauren was seen at Madeo restaurant in Los Angeles, on Wednesday, August 3.  She wore a black and white printed top tucked into a black a-line skirt and black heels.

Now that she’s back on the social scene, Lauren is also open to posing for more photos with fans.  This photo was taken at the ESPY awards after-party.

Lauren wore a black lace dress from her Paper Crown Holiday collection and kept things simple and sexy with her blonde flowing beach waves.

Lauren’s love life is back in the headlines, despite her desire to stay away from them.  Although she’s only recently broken up with Kyle Howard, Lauren has been linked to Teen Wolf star Colton Haynes.  She hasn’t confirmed the relationship though, and Colton has been coy about her too.

During his appearance on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS FM radio show on Monday, August 15, Ryan asked Colton about the rumored romance.  Colton said, “I’ve known Lauren for about four-and-a-half years now. We’re really good friends.”

When Ryan commented on Lauren, saying She’s cute”, Colton agreed, saying “She definitely is.  She’s definitely smart. She might have more jobs than you!”

It really does sound like Lauren and Colton are just friends.  Stranger things have happened though and often the best person to be in a relationship with is someone you already have a strong friendship with.

Lauren Unveils Paper Crown

Pop Sugar/Examiner

Lauren Conrad and her business partner for Paper Crown, and childhood friend we should note, Maura McManus sat down for a chat at NYC Fashion Coterie.

Paper Crown is the embodiment of the California casual style that we’ve come to see Lauren perfect during her time in the public eye. Lauren wants to develop a brand that will offer classic and timeless pieces that can be easily utilized with the trends of today. Bottom line, Lauren wants Paper Crown’s clothing to be the staple feature of your wardrobe.

Lauren’s first line Lauren Conrad Collection, was funded by another partner (MTV) so she had minimum creative input, needless to say Lauren won’t be making the same mistake with Paper Crown because she fully finances it herself. Lauren notes she is enjoying the freedom of making her own decisions and working with her best friends too.

Maura explains how Lauren has a unique sense of style in that she can dress like every other 25 year old, yet her outfits always have that twist of something special, something Lauren. This will be evident in Paper Crown’s designs because it will reflect Lauren’s personal taste while still striving to attract her target audience. You.

Every start-up business encounters hardships and Lauren and Maura expect Paper Crown to be no different. Both girls elaborate that the line is a process of trial and error because as any fashionista will tell you, some classic pieces just do not work with the latest trend. Lauren is aware that they will need to keep up with the latest trends in order for Paper Crown to stay relevant. Maura stressed the benefit of running Paper Crown as a contemporary line rather than a futures line is that they don’t have to predict the next fashion trend, but rather have some fun with the current one.

Lauren is happy and content in focusing all of her efforts into Paper Crown along with Maura and their fellow partners. It seems Paper Crown has been a success so far at Coterie because Lauren couldn’t resist mentioning the great responses they have received from the industry.

Lauren’s Not Allowed to Wear Her Own Line

You would think that the designer and creator of Paper Crown would be allowed to wear her own clothes, right? Such is not the case for Lauren, who jokingly admits that “I tend to spill on things.” Lauren and Maura McManus, her friend and business partner, are in New York City for Coterie, a 3-day trade show in which boutique owners stop by to place orders to stock up their stores. There’s only three people (Lauren and Maura included) who are invested in this start-up collection, which is why Maura has “banned” Lauren from wearing Paper Crown until after the event to ensure that all the clothes are in perfect condition.

It’s this start-up spirit that Lauren wanted to portray in her now defunct MTV show, Lauren Conrad: Fiercely Fashionable. Since the network decided to pass on her show, none of these adventures will be seen, something that disappoints Lauren.

“I’m disappointed because I loved the show, but ultimately they wanted it to be about my personal life. Since we stopped production, we finalized the line, shot the lookbook, and now we’re going to New York. The show was about a group of friends coming together and making something from scratch, and that’s what we wanted to capture.”

In lieu of a show, Paper Crown’s lookbook encompasses all that Lauren wanted to present for her line. These pieces are articles of clothing that Lauren herself would wear, a fact that she states is crucial for the branding.

“I know how important branding is, so it feels very cohesive, and very much like me. Nothing is overly trendy. We want these pieces to be in people’s closets for a long, long time.”

Lauren is Reality Royalty

No one likes a drama queen, none dislikes one more than Lauren, who will be returning to reality TV early next year for her new show, Lauren Conrad: Fiercely Fashionable. But one thing she is happy about is the chance to dictate the terms of her appearances and how far she’s willing to go to sacrifice her privacy. At the VH1’s Save the Music Foundation Gala on Monday, November 8, Lauren mentioned that this show is on her terms alone.

“I’m just excited to be back and also to have a little say this time. I’m a producer on the project so that’s very exciting for me this time around.”

“I’m excited to have greater control over things. I’m just happy to act as a producer and do things on my terms.”

“I wanted a private life. I wanted my own personal life and this new show allows me to do that. It made sense for me to come back because I really enjoyed filming. It was just my need to have a life that was just for me so now I get to do both.”

Lauren filmed some early scenes for her show with Maura, one of her best friends who has not been featured on theHills to late. Lauren confirmed that none of her former MTV co-stars would be with her on the show, and this no doubt lets her breathe a sigh of relief at the fresh start as she said that “It’s fun to do it over again.” Lauren? Filming? Fun?? Wow, maybe the world has turned a new leaf!
