Revolve Promises Not to Hire Allie Crandell Until She Gains Weight

Allie Crandell was one of Whitney’s friends on theCity who found herself in the middle of controversy when Kelly Cutrone famously told her to “Eat something.” Allie was humiliated but still soldiered on as a model and is now known as one of the faces for Forever21.

However, she was recently blasted on RevolveClothing.com for being too thin while wearing a mesh dress from BCBG. The comments ranged from “Gross!” to people who were genuinely concerned about her, like this viewer:

“I’m not going to join in with the “ews” or the “disgustings!” or the “feed her!” comments, but as someone who has dealt with her own body image issues in the past (like many women have), this makes me feel incredibly uncomfortable.”

This isn’t the first time Allie has been talked about in public, as recent photos at a Forever21 event prompted additional criticism on her weight. Revolve must have been feeling the heat (despite the fact that Allie is featured on at least 9 other pages), because they left this comment below the above picture:

REVOLVE Team, Los Angeles, CA (Straight/Short)
Hi everyone,Thank you for your concern. We are absolutely aware ofthe feedback and responses to our model’s weight and it has concerned us as well. We are working closely with both the model and her agent to get her to a healthier size. She won’t be appearing in any of our new product batches or in any of our fashion editorial photos moving forward until the issue is adequately addressed. We appreciate and respect input from our customers and visitors and hope that you find our responses satisfying. We have been attempting to respect the privacy of the model in question while dealing with the issue on our end. We hope you understand.Sincerely,The REVOLVE Team

What’s ironic is the fact that the industry that Allie is in demands perfection and promotes skinny models, and there is a reason why the saying exists that “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.” Do you think it’s fair for Allie to conform to industry standards, yet be degraded for her weight? Sound off below.

Fashion Fauxfile- Lauren Conrad

Lauren Party Look Budget

This is a slightly different fashion fauxfile, in that it’s been inspired by Lauren Conrad’s party style rather than a recent photo.  We want to bring you looks that are achievable, and thought this party look, which costs just under $300, would come in very handy!

The ruffled tiered dress was originally inspired by Lauren’s Stella McCartney dress she talks about in her style guide. But at the amazing price of $34.50 we thought this version from WetSeal was definitely worth bringing to your attention.

The black platform heels are by Sakura, and at $125 from Topshop, we think they’re a great version of Lauren’s fave Louboutins.

To accessorize the party dress, we chose a black clutch bag from Monsoon, the sweetest pair of black rose Mimco earrings from House of Fraser and another Lauren fave, a jeweled headband from Forever21.

Fashion Fauxfile- Audrina Patridge

Audrina's Jimmy Kimmel Look

On Wednesday, October 27, Audrina was on Jimmy Kimmel Live with her Dancing with the Stars partner, Tony Dovolani. We really loved her look that night, so decided to find some similar items online that you (and us too of course) can use to get a little bit of Audrina-goodness into your wardrobe.

We’ve used a mix of designer and high street pieces, so you can splurge on the essentials and save on the trend items.  Save a little on the leopard print top by Topshop, the Bandage Mini Skirt (which is very Herve Leger) is from ArdenB and you can splurge on the Jimmy Choo gladiator heels at Bergdorf Goodman. We also found some fantastic accessories for you – a Lanvin lizard & python cuff from net-a-porter, a vintage skinny belt from Topshop, a pyramid cross two finger ring (very rock & roll) from Alex & Chloe and the simple heart locket from Forever 21.

Start shopping girls – and don’t forget to show us what you got!  Also, have any looks you’d like us to create a Fauxfile for?  Let us know below.

Stephanie Shops and Saves

One thing that makes Stephanie more relatable than the normal celebrity is the fact that she shops at places just like us. Recently, she’s been showing her love for British label Topshop (think England’s version of Forever21) by wearing outfits such as the Mesh Cut Out Dress ($70) to a movie premiere and the Bandage Ruched Bandeau Dress ($78) at the Nylon party this week.

If you’ve been loving Stephanie’s style lately, now you can dress just like her without declaring bankruptcy.
