Taryn Manning Shows Off Whitney Eve

Taryn Manning wore a Whitney Eve jacket and belt to the Katy Pery/Samsung party in LA. It looks great on her – and also something that I could definitely see Whitney wearing. Whitney was very excited about her celebrity fan:

Hi guys,
It’s so cool to see that out of all the designers available for a celebrity to wear on a red carpet someone would choose my line, Whitney Eve! Taryn Manning, who was in 8 Mile and Crossroads, wore my champagne jacket with bow belt on the red carpet for the Katy Perry/Samsung party a few nights ago! Also look for her soon in LAX magazine cause she wore Whitney Eve for that too!! How cute does she look?!? Yayyy. Thanks Taryn!!

xoxo,
Whit

Olivia & Roxy: Dancing to Their Own Beat

“TheCity” Season 1: Part 2: Episode 8: If You want Something Done Right…”

This week, Whitney and Roxy leave the boys behind to return their focus to work.  Let’s recap.

Fresh off Kelly telling Whitney she needed to get moving on her clothing line and finish her sketches, Whitney has her whole collection completed.  The samples have even arrived.  The magic of television.  The next step: a look book.  Kelly names a million things that need to be done but says People’s Rev will take care of most of it, Whit just needs to focus on the casting.  Whitney surmises that she can get Roxy on the casting.  “She’s never done a casting”, Kelly aka the voice of reason warns.  Whitney says maybe it should be Roxy’s first.  “You need to put your best foot forward because if you don’t the other one doesn’t get to follow”, Kelly again warns.

Fast forward to the casting.  Whitney has on an amazing blue sleeveless top with a blue skirt that we must source later, while Roxy has on a cute green dress.  Roxy’s job was to call the models to the shoot, but the one’s she chose were all wrong for Whitney’s fairytale look.  Kelly suggests that if Roxy wants to be “Superflying Ranger in Redemption” she needs to pull some magic because Whitney put herself on the line for Roxy.  She needs some Fairtytale Tea Party girls, not Gothic Nightmares.

Over at ELLE headquarters, Erin tells Joe that they have his Fall A to Zee column ready, but there’s still a ton of things that need to be done and they need help.  Guess who Joe recommends?  Olivia of course.  Erin laughs and says of all the people here you choose Olivia?  Translation: I’m sick of this fake camera and fake show and I wanna go back to doing my real job with real people.  Nonetheless, Erin’s not the boss so she really has no say in this.

Next, Roxy transforms into the Superflying Ranger in Redemption and brings some magical girls into casting.  They have fresh faces perfect for Whitney’s Fairytale la la land theme.  Whitney is very pleased.

Back at ELLE.  Can Olivia become a Superfly Redeemer?  Erin doesn’t think so.  She gives her the task for the A to Zee job.  It’s a “He said, She said” theme.  Olivia has to pull two looks that a guy would want to see his girl in and two that the girl would want to wear.  Olivia actually takes notes, but Erin is still condescending the whole time.  Olivia tells Erin not to stress; Erin says snarkily that the fact that Olivia is not concerned worries her.  We understand Erin’s frustration, but her remarks are crossing over from frustrated supervisor to rude snark.

After the break, we’re finally at Whitney’s Look Book Photo Shoot.  Roxy is hands on as always.  She seems to think she’s her father, Ken Olin, for a moment as she totally tries to take over the shoot and direct the models.  The shoot is all about the light and airy, pretty and natural.  There’s cakes, cupcakes, and champagne.  Roxy aka the Idea Machine is spewing off ideas a mile a minute.  One is to have the model scream.  Not sure what that has to do with a Fairytale Photo Shoot, neither does Whitney.  She is finally able to tell Roxy no.  Then Roxy suggests that the models have a cake fight.  Novel idea if this wasn’t a photo shoot for clothing, which means you can’t have the clothing ruined or covered in food.  With this, Kelly has to pull the Idea Machine to the side and ask her to press stop, after all this is Whitney’s shoot.

Roxy can’t press stop, but presses pause.  But as soon as she gets another opportunity, she dances to the beat of her own drum.  No one will stop Roxy from moving forward with this one.  She’s been shut down twice but will not be denied thrice.  She suggests one last shot of popping champagne.  Kelly says not to do it because champagne will go all over the place.  “Kill me for being young and spontaneous,” Roxy says.  Maybe that’s not such a bad idea after this debacle.  The model does pop the champagne and it does spill all over her.  Whitney just walks away in dismay.

If we could combine Whitney and Roxy into one person, they’d be the perfect business person.  Whitney is just not assertive enough and Roxy lacks discretion. If they met somewhere in the middle, we’d hire them!  Whitney is upset for a half a second, then Roxy makes her forget all about it.  Roxy throws some food at her, and they have a food fight and some laughs.

Then Olivia meets up with Bryne, an intern at ELLE, to collect the four looks for A to Zee.  Bryne pulls a dress but Olivia “is only concerned that it hugs in the wrong area”.  “I couldn’t pull it off, I don’t know about everyone else,” Olivia boasts.  Now, we all know Olivia has impeccable fashion taste, but the bragging makes her a prime target for critiques.  She doesn’t have the world’s best body where she can pull of anything, so let’s not brag as such.  Then Olivia asks Bryne if a pair of pants are skinny enough for the skinny look they needed.  Bryne says no and Olivia dances to the beat of her own drum and says “well, I like it” so she uses it.  Bottom line: don’t ask if you don’t plan to listen.

It looks like Olivia’s dance was off beat once again, because Erin hated her pulls.  No surprise.  Erin thinks the size 16 model’s size 14 black dress is too small.  In fact, all the sizes are off.  Olivia doesn’t care.  “It’s fine”, is her response to everything.  How is it fine when the model looks like she’s wearing her little sister’s clothing?  Olivia tries to justify her incompetence by saying that she went to two stores and they didn’t have the sizes.  So she should’ve went to a third store, Erin told her.  Olivia asks Erin if she would talk to Joe likes she talks to her.  That’s so irrelevant because Olivia is not Joe, nor is she on Joe’s level.  Totally illogical comparison. These two are a total mess.  We don’t know whose worse anymore.

Back at the Revolution and Roxy has already gotten the champagne dress dry cleaned.  Roxy may make a mess, but she knows how to clean it up.  Kelly tells Whitney the look book is ready. Roxy is excited and starts to get out of her seat, before Kelly says she’s doing it with Whitney alone first.  Roxy can see it later.  The looks turned out great, but Roxy did not.  Kelly says Whitney needs to rethink Roxy’s involvement in her career (again) because it seems like Roxy wants to learn the hard way.  Regardless of what you tell her, she’ll do what she wants to.  “I don’t think that’s true though”, Whitney says.  Looks like Whitney is the one who wants to learn the hard way.

Olivia: Warm and Fuzzy

MTV

While shaggy fur gilets are tres fashionable this fall, they lack a certain practicality (cold arms anyone?). However, this has not stopped the reality ladies of MTV, getting snugly in these winter warmers. First Kristin Cavallari stepped out in her fuzzy black vest, and now the unfeasibly fashionable Olivia Palermo has followed suit.

I have to say Olivia’s attempt at the furry trend moults all over Kristin’s. Firstly, Kristin clearly doesn’t need to be sporting fur in the sun, hence she looks totally fashion victim. Olivia on the other hand in printed knitwear (so this season it hurts) and wet look leggings is ready for fall and fabulous. Not into the shoes though. They’re a tincy bit dull, I want to see a shoeboot Liv please.

Olivia: Armani Elegant

Fashion Spot

Liv was spotted out in the city, continuing to live up to her socialite status. Opting for an all black ensemble, she looked like a chic New Yorker at the welcome dinner for the Sydney Theatre Company at Armani Ristorante last night.

Freddie Fackelmayer Resurfaces

The revelation that Freddie Fackelmayer had a girlfriend caused quite a stir on theCity.  Now, she has a name, Betsey Morgenstern, and in the spirit of theHills and theCity docu-dramas- a fake career.  In fact, she may be fictional altogether.  This information was revealed as it broke that Freddie was at a party that Olivia Palermo’s nemesis Tinsley Mortimer was filming for her new show.

Tinsley Mortimer is filming a reality show, Empire Stage. Although the show hasn’t aired, it’s already controversial.  She had a fake fight with Devorah Rose, editor of alleged magazine Social Life.

Apparently Rose was going around telling people Tinsley’s man is a poor! The Tinz couldn’t stand for that and went over to defend poor Prince Casimir Wittgenstein-Sayn’s honor as the richiest rich who wipes his ass with Fabergé eggs. Her on-camera entourage (including Paul Johnson Calderone) all went over to scream at Rose. If the photos are this good we can’t wait to see the CW promos!

The CW claims the matter rose organically, but then again, theHills producer also claimed their show was authentic for years.  Now, the show has gotten criminal and Fackelmayerish.

Now they’ve signed on phone-hacking flack Ali Wise as one of the “co-stars.” They filmed her at a party at the Alice Olivia pop up store this weekend—a party also attended by reality whole and fictional reporter Betsey Morgenstern’s boyfriend Freddie Fackelmayer—and a camera crew was spotted with her on October 19 when she was arraigned for breaking into romantic rival Nina Freudenberger’s voicemail with something called a spoof card. Well, we will certainly be spoofing this show, and we hope that the CW will make a huge star out of Ali. It’s the wise thing to do. And the puns just won’t stop coming. We love this chick! Producers are a little worried what’s going to happen to her after her next court date January 14.

Something tells us Freddie will continue to creep up in and around Hollywood types and reality shows.  Will you watch Tinsley’s show?

Bonnie Hunt Helps Whitney Find a New Hairstyle

A lovely looking Whitney Port showed up to the Bonnie Hunt Show yesterday. Whitney was sporting a leggy light pink and purple floral print dress. It was simply gorge, and even better it was from Whitney’s very own clothing line Whitney Eve.

Whitney, the middle of five children talked about being homesick in the City every single day.  But she’s obviously not ready to leave all things City behind.  She still talks to ex-boyfriend Jay Lyon much the  chagrin of Bonnie.  Bonnie says girls need to learn to “clean out the basement to make room for new memories”.  Whitney’s not dating now, but she would date Robert Pattinson. “I think I’m just like under his spell,” Whitney blushed.  But she’s really focusing on herself, because she has to get to know herself before she can be with someone else.  Whitney was always the wise one.

more about “Bonnie Hunt Helps Whitney find a new …“, posted with vodpod

After the break, Whitney told Bonnie she was looking for a new hairdo. We think that’s a great move. Her long flowy waves are usually impeccable, but everyone needs a little variety. She’s recently tried to pull it all back with two french braids, ala Olivia Palermo, but it doesn’t suit her face. In fact, Whitney even said “I look like a boy” with that hair. Nothing could be farther from the truth, but what is true is that she doesn’t look her best.

So Bonnie put Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Anniston’s respective hairstyles on Whitney (a mere coincidence). They didn’t suit her. They also tried some Bonnie Hunt styles, and Lady Gaga. Everyone agreed that the best was Rihanna. Who knew Whitney could do short black hair? What do you think Whitney should do to her hair?

Olivia and the hottness

Fashion Spot

Oh Olivia, I don’t think it’s quite fair to incorporate your extremely hot bf and your possibly hotter (controversial) thigh highs, in one fashtastic outfit.

Olivia Palermo and her gorgeous boyfriend Johannes stepped out in New York for the screening of “Brothers”, and Olivia as usual nailed her outfit choice. The flouncy green skirt complements her darker locks beautifully and those amazing thigh high boots toughen it up making it suitable for fall. I’m not in love with her ring-master esque jacket but her beautiful sparkly clutch and fabulous cocktail ring more than make up for it.

Whitney Port Photo Shoot

The Celebrity City

Here are a few pictures from Whitney Port’s photo shoot with Tom Stockill.

Despite her recent addition to Zimbio’s Worst Dressed List of 2009 (see below), I think this outfit is gorgeous. I love the leggings, the blazer, the leopard print shoes, and all the colors mixed together.

Whitney Makes Worst Dress List of 2009

Like her former co-star, Stephanie Pratt, Whitney Port also made Zimbio.com’s list of “50 Worst Dressed Celebrities of 2009″.

Zimbio.com pointed out that it’s her unflattering shorts and blazers that caused her to be considered a “worst dressed celebrity”. But I think if anything, it’s her mix and match of different patterns. Sometimes her outfits clash too much – for example the stripes with floral outfit. Other than that, Whitney usually has a good fashion sense – although sometimes pretty eclectic.

The Plaid Party Continues

OK! Magazine

Steph strutted her stuff down the streets of LA this week, giving us another version of the popular plaid trend. For months, we’ve seen many of theHills and theCity stars getting pretty in plaid and some who’ve made plaid look bad, either way it looks like the trend is here to stay. Stephanie’s ensemble definitely looks better than Kristin’s plaid disaster from the other day.

If you want to piece together a plaid look like Steph, start with a Splendid Seattle Plaid Flannel Shirt. If you’ve still got some extra spending cash, add some flare to your outfit with Steph’s JJ Winters Suede Fringe bag. She’s picture perfect minus the creepy wave.
