From Coast to Coast! The news stirred, not shaken.
Gossip Girl stars Taylor Momsen and Jessica Szohr are officially leaving the show after it was revealed they haven’t signed on for the fifth season as series regulars. Will anybody miss them? No, probably not. They both became unlikeable characters when they finally took their scheming too far and landed Serena van der Woodsen in rehab. Still, their characters haven’t been killed off, so we shouldn’t rule out the possibility of Jessica and Taylor making random appearances next season.
However, each cloud has a silver lining because Kaylee DeFer has signed onto the fifth season as a series regular. Kaylee plays Serena’s cousin Charlie Rhodes. Charlie has all of the hallmarks of becoming a potential blonde Blair Waldorf – exciting!
But if you’re going to miss Taylor and Jessica, they’ll still be around. Taylor is still focusing on her music career and playing with her band The Pretty Reckless and Jessica is turning her attention to film. Jessica will be appearing in the romantic comedy Love, Wedding, Marriage with Mandy Moore and Kellan Lutzthis summer.
