Earlier this month, we brought you the terrifying truth about the hidden fees behind the Kardashian Kard. It turns out that behind the enticing design of having Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe on your plastic, there lies a valley of obscured charges that amount to you pretty much giving up your first-born child.
A little controversy never hurt anyone, especially if it increases your fame. But damaging one’s credit history, particularly when teenagers are involved who may have no idea about the risks they are taking with this card, is no laughing matter. That is why effective today, the Kardashians have submitted a “Notice of Termination” to the companies behind this Kard due to the overwhelming negative response they have received from it. The fact that the Attorney General of Connecticut has opened up an investigation to examine whether or not this Kard violates consumer protection laws probably didn’t help, either.
A lawyer who represents the family released this statement in light of the event.
“The Kardashians have worked extremely long and hard to create a positive public persona that appeals to everyone, particularly young adults. [The investigation] threatens everything for which [The Kardashians] have worked, [so the family has decided to] terminate the agreement …effective immediately.”
While the Kardashian Kard may not have worked out, there are still scores of other products that they can promote. We previously mentioned wanting to see a Kardashian Kevlar Vest, and we are still patiently waiting. But perhaps this is a cautionary tale to the Kardashians that there’s a reason why no one endorses 100+ things at one time. Somewhere, someone in the Kardashian Kamp didn’t look over the kontract or the terms of the Kardashian Kard to make sure they were endorsing something that would be a positive experience. Maybe if they didn’t have so much on their plate they wouldn’t find themselves in this situation? Just sayin’…
