Inside Brody’s London Eye

Brody recently made his way to London where he naturally enjoyed the nightlife.  In the midst of partying and probably handling some business he managed to grant an interview.  The interview was in a taxi demonstrating just how much he was on the go.  Arriving noticeably worn, “In a white T-shirt, with a black ‘LA’ baseball cap slung backwards, sporting shades the size of bay windows, he does look moderately tousled”.

Still, Brody was focused on seeing the sights.  “I have not slept since I’ve been here [four days and counting]. I really haven’t had that much time to go out during the day, as I go out at night. That’s why this cab ride is great. I can actually do some sightseeing.”

One club Brody visited was Whisky Mist. But even though Brody seems to constantly party both off screen and on theHills, Brody maintains that the real Brody and that guy with the same name we see on TV are entirely different.  This is a surprise since he claimed the show was entirely real.  “On The Hills they don’t show what I actually do. All they want is the drama. I’m a television producer,” Brody clarifies.

Brody is an OG in the television production game, having been around the business since he was 20.  It was at this ripe age that he and Spencer Pratt created a short lived TV series called Princes of Malibu where Brody was (or “played”) the frat-boy freeloading off his stepdad at his large mansion in the ‘bu.

“I’d go home and hear my parents arguing – “He’s a dropout.” It gave me that extra bit of drive.”

This extra drive turned into a network television reality show ahead of the huge reality craze.  “We picked up the cameras, pitched it for a year and a half and ended up selling it to Fox television, which for me is one of the biggest accomplishments of my life. Since then it’s been a crazy ride… Hey, that looks fun, that Ferris wheel thing. What is it?”

That’d be the London Eye, a must-see for tourists.  A few shakes later and the cab was at the Buckingham Palace. “Now that’s a house! It looks better than the White House; more my style. I want to visit Prince Harry – Harry’s the man. He’s in the tabloids all the time in the States.”  Sounds like a man after Brody’s heart.  They’d make a cool Bromance wouldn’t they?  “People give him flak but he seems like a cool kid, somebody I’d hang out with,” Brody  added.

Brody must’ve felt at home in the cab with paparazzi following closely during the ride.  The interviewer had to explain to the driver why the paps were on them, and included the many fame connections that flow through Brody’s huge extended family.  “Trust me, it confuses me sometimes,” says Brody.

While the upside of the famous family is duly noted, the downsize is never feeling like you’ve earned it.

“I never wanted to rely on my family for money. I dropped out of college when I was 18 to be in a band. I’d go home and hear my parents arguing – “He’s a dropout.” It gave me that extra bit of drive: “I’ll show you I’m not just a dropout.” That’s when the whole Princes of Malibu thing started. Everyone thinks something like The Hills just falls into your lap. It’s not true. You have to work for everything.”
