“Hills” Fitness Secrets

It’s no secret that theHills girls are physically fit.  They keep their bodies up because they know they’ll be on your TV screens or on the pages of the magazines you read just about weekly.

Until now you may not have known their secrets to staying fit.  We’ve mentioned some of their fitness regimes before, but here they are in some detail.

Lauren’s Regimine

  • She had to adopt a new regimine since in high school she had sports to keep her fit
  • She trains at Equinox gym with Jarett Del Bene (whom you’ve seen on the show)
  • Lauren lost 6 pounds, and at 5′6 is 119 pounds.
  • Lauren says, ““The first place I lost weight was my little belly… Now I’m happy about my arms because they were a little mushy!”
  • Conrad consumes 1,500 calories daily in six meals on the plan provided by Del Bene. “It’s taped up on our fridge,” she says of the fish-and-veggie – filled menu. “On cheat day, I usually eat carbs.”
  • Breakfast LC likes her coffee mixed with skim milk. A whole-grain waffle and 2 teaspoons of peanut butter give her calcium and protein. Other options: oatmeal or a bowl of Kashi cereal, both with skim milk.
  • Lunch A fiber- and protein-rich Cobb salad: turkey bacon, egg whites, veggies, avocado and balsamic dressing. Two more ideas: chunk light tuna and feta cheese on a bed of lettuce or a grilled chicken salad.
  • Midday Noshing on half a cup of low-fat cottage cheese and 10 raw almonds keeps energy up. A low-fat yogurt and seven walnuts will also do the trick.
  • Dinner A 4-to-6-ounce serving of a lean fish like tilapia or chicken breast is packed with protein. And salad or roasted vegetables on the side will help fill the stomach.
  • Lauren Conrad’s Workout Twice a week for an hour, Conrad lifts weights and runs on the treadmill. On off days, she hikes for 45 minutes in L.A.’s Runyon Canyon.

Not your style?  Need more intense workouts?  Here’s Heidi Pratt’s.

Heidi’s Regimine

  • She says, “”Staying fit is something I’m really passionate about.”
  • This should be no surprise since she will appear in magazines (Playboy) without any clothes on.
  • She trains with Chad Waterbury
  • The 5′1 100 pounder thankfully didn’t want to lose weight, instead she wanted to add curves
  • “When she came to me her butt was really flat and she wanted to make it bigger,” says Waterbury. “Now, it’s nice, shapely and round.”
  • Heidi works out 90 minutes a day five times a week
  • She does “full-body, intense resistance exercises” quickly so she burns more fat
  • She uses light and heavy weights i.e. 75 pound kettlebells to give her body “a hard look with a feminine shape.”
  • She passes on carbs, but eats “lean meats including grass-fed beef ” along with green veggies, apples and berries

Not going for Heidi’s look?  Here’s how to get fit the Audrina way.

Audrina’s Regimine

  • Much like Heidi, Audrina, at 116 pounds, is looking to lose any weight.  She’s never had issues with weight.
  • She told Us Magazine that “I’m not going to the gym to lose weight, but to get definition in my arms, butt and legs.”
  • Audrina also worked out with Jarret Del Bene of Equinox.  No word on if she still does.
  • Audrina Patridge: Diet
“Before, I was a junk food junkie” admits Audrina. Now, her 1250 calorie diet includes fish and salads.
  • Audrina Patridge: Workout
Once a week Audrina works out 30 minutes on the elliptical followed by squats. Commenting on her workouts with Del Bene she says”Now my arms, stomach, and legs are cut!”

Or try, yoga like Kristin.

Kristin’s Regimines

  • Kristin does yoga 2-3 times a week, specifically “hot yoga”.
  • Hot yoga is “where you go in a room for an hour and a half, and the room is 110 degree. It’s very hard, but it’s a very good workout.”
  • When she doesn’t do yoga, she uses the treadmill for 30 minutes and does light weights.
  • In total, she works out 4-5 times a week.
  • What she eats: “For snacks, rolled up turkey and low fat cheese. Also, I always have some sort of balance bar or kashi bar in my purse in case there isn’t healthy food. For workouts, I’m usually able to get to a treadmill.”
