Kristin Shines In Her Last Trimester

Kristin Cavallari has been a real style inspiration throughout both of her pregnancies, and her look for the NBC Universal Summer Press Tour in Pasadena on Tuesday, April 8, was no different.

The (almost) Mom of two wore a pink pleated maxi dress, which she layered under a white sleeveless cropped top.

The following day, Kristin took a day for errands in West Hollywood, stopping to eat breakfast alone.

The Fabulist host wore a lightweight snakeskin printed maxi dress, beige flats and a cropped denim jacket.  She wore her hair back in a low ballet bun, and light make-up.

Kristin, who’s due with her second son next month, joked recently that she is the “most boring pregnant woman ever.”

Speaking to Glamour magazine, she said, “The pregnancy is going really well, I’m getting close here to having a baby and I’m really excited. Y’know, with both pregnancies I haven’t had any weird cravings.”

Keeping Up At Coachella

Coachella is always full of celebrities, but as far as Hills2City are aware, none of the Kardashians have been seen there before. This year Kendall and Kylie Jenner decided to change all that, each girl making their first appearances at the music festival.

Kendall has been posting photos of herself and friends enjoying the festival, here posing with friend Scotty Cunha on Sunday, April 13, wearing a white tube top and denim cut-offs.  The 18 year old model gained internet attention for her over-size nose ring, which Hills2City think she may have gotten inspiration for from her recent family trip to Asia.

The previous day, Saturday, April 12, Kendall and sister Kylie both started the weekend in all black outfits.  Kendall wore a black lace full-length cover-up, black tube top and black leather shorts with a fringed hem.  She accessorized with black studded flats and tribal eye makeup.

Kylie wore  a black romper with lace edging, which she belted at the waist.  She layered silver and black necklaces and wore black feathers in her hair.

As most of you are no doubt aware, this was the first weekend of Coachella 2014; of course the music is exciting, but we’ve been most excited to see what people are wearing.

Whitney Port is a long-time lover of the famous music festival, so it’s no surprise to see her out and about.  The soon-to-be-married star attended the Guess Hotel Pool Party in Palm Springs on Saturday, April 12.

Whitney wore a loose navy camisole which she tucked into a pair of navy and white checked shorts.  All the better to show off her amazing pins!  She accessorized with a cute pair of leopard print sneakers and round black sunglasses.

Also joining Whitney at the pool party were 90210 star Shenae Grimes, New Girl star Hannah Simone, Revenge star Ashley Madekwe and Hangover 2 star Jamie Chung.

Shenae’s boho style is perfect for a summer festival; the actress wore a white lace cropped top with a bikini top underneath, denim cut-offs and a dark floral kimono.  Shenae accessorized her look with black leather fringed loafers, tortoiseshell sunglasses and a black leather bag.

Whitney’s New Reality

Bride-to-be Whitney Port was out shopping in West Hollywood on Monday, March 31, shopping for homewares at West Elm.

The fashion designer wore a printed t-shirt, beige cardigan, skinny stonewash jeans and beige, studded ankle boots.

Although she hasn’t revealed everything about her wedding plans to X-Factor producer Tim Rosenman, Whitney has shared that the location is most likely not going to be either in LA or New York.  She explains, “Since I’m from here and Tim in from New York, we thought it made sense to meet on neutral grounds.”

Whitney continues,”He just wants everyone to have a really fun time and for it not to be too stuffy.”

She has also been speaking about her other love, fashion label Whitney Eve.  Talking to Refinery29 recently, Whitney shares, “It’s important to me to really have something for everyone in every collection.  While there is the 16-year-old who is going to wear some of our graphic tees and funkier prints, there’s the college girl who’s going to wear the moto jacket, there’s the girl out of college who is going to wear the cocktail dresses and blazers, and then there are women like my mom who will wear my sweaters and tracksuits! So, even though I want it to always feel fresh and current, I don’t want to put the line in a box and say it’s for any specific person.”

Although the former reality star hasn’t been on screen since her stint as a judge on Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model, Whitney is very happy working behind-the-scenes on her label.  She says, “In my opinion, I really feel like it’s bigger and better than ever,” she added. “It’s nice when something evolves, and you’re able to step back and feel proud of it.  I really think my biggest goal is having my collection on more and more girls. There’s nothing better for me than when I see girls wearing the pieces and making them their own.”

Kristin’s Fabulist Tips For Spring

Kristin Cavallari’s new show The Fabulist premiered on E! a couple of weeks ago; hopefully you’ve been tuning in to hear Kristin and co-host Orly Shani’s take on the upcoming trends.

Hot on the promotion trail, Kristin and Orly are sharing a few of their favorite Spring Trends:

What is your favorite fashion trend of the spring?

Kristin: White on white is a huge trend for spring, which I think is so classic and clean.

Orly: I love pencil skirts and crop tops. It’s been all over the place for the last few months and won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. You can also take old bodycon dresses and chop it in half — now you have a perfectly matched pencil and crop top!

What is the boldest beauty trend of the season?

Kristin: I love orange lips right now, if done correctly. I think they look great with bronzey makeup.

What is your favorite accessory trend?

Kristin: Buckles are a great trend, and I think everyone can pull them off. They look great on shoes and purses.

What is the hippest drink of the moment?

Kristin: Boxed wine is a big trend, which I think is hilarious and fun.

Orly: There are new drinks like Kombucha that you can get at your local market now, instead of stopping by a specialty health food store. It’s readily accessible — expensive, but accessible.

Foodie trend?

Kristin: Bone marrow. I haven’t actually tried it yet, but I want to. It’s suppose to be really good for you and taste great.

Orly: I love how we’re getting more obsessive with what goes in our food. It’s allowed all these natural and organic food companies to pop up.

Favorite place to travel?

Kristin: I love Mykonos, and it’s a very trendy spot right now. It’s one of my favorite places.

What is your best travel tip?

Orly: This isn’t a sexy trend, but with the amount that I travel right now, it’s my favorite — TSA Pre! This allows you to get pre-approved and whiz right through security. It’s genius and I’m all over it.

How does your background in fashion help you host the show?

Kristin: I’ve picked up great tips from top hair and makeup artists over the years so I’m hoping to bring that to the table.

Orly: Trying to build Tuc+Wes [her fashion line] for all these years really gives me an appreciation for the brands that can break through the noise. There is so much competition out there and when we feature something on the show, whether I love it or not, I admire their ability to stand apart from the rest.

Olivia Palermo and Johannes Huebl continue their tradition of being styled perfectly at all times; the engaged couple taking a walk together in the West Village on Monday, March 31.

Olivia wore a sheer black top under a short-sleeved black jacket, black and white leggings and black and white embroidered flats.  She carried an oversize white tote, and wore black cats eye sunglasses.

In other Olivia news, she now has her own emoji’s!  The team at her website explain:

Purple Reign

Lauren Conrad is known for her long blonde hair, fans have been lusting after Lauren’s locks since her days on Laguna Beach.

So the fashion mogul was really playing with fire this week when she dyed her hair purple; Glamour magazine even name-checked Lauren as following the likes of Nicole Richie and Kelly Osbourne with the lilac hair trend of 2014!

Turns out things may not have been as they seemed, as Lauren revealed on her website, “Happy April Fool’s Day everyone! I tricked you yesterday with a photoshopped snapshot of my mane. I’m not sure that I’m really ready for purple tresses yet!”

Hills2City love Lauren as a blonde, but we’re always up for an experiment. What do you think?

Lauren Covers Aussie Cosmo

Lauren Conrad is the April 2014 cover girl for Australian Cosmopolitan magazine; the engaged star wears an embroidered, embellished dress and accessorizes with hot pink heels.

Inside the magazine, Lauren offers some advice exclusively for the readers:

Lauren on love

What tells you you’re with the right guy?

William hates it when I say this, but he really is a very nice guy; when you meet a nice guy who also manages to keep your interest, that’s the dream. By date two, if I’m not into someone, I’d rather spend my night with girlfriends or family. If you’re going to settle down, then it should be with someone who you can’t stop thinking about.

How open about your sex life should you be with girlfriends?

It’s important to have friends you can talk to openly, but you need to be respectful. Are you telling something that would embarrass your partner? This person might be someone you’re with for a long time… then everyone knows you married a foot-fetish guy!

Lauren on body love

What exercise class or routine has changed your body more than anything else?

The only thing that has ever really changed my body was spending time in the gym with a trainer, doing a lot of low-weight, high reps. Last year I took a beginner’s ballet class and went and bought a pair of ballet shoes but looked like a damn fool the whole time. There were a lot of laughing ballerinas. I was so sore the next day, I couldn’t move!

What is the best way to fall in love with your own body?

I’m so jealous of people who love their bodies completely. Most of us have trouble areas as well as areas that they like, I think. So you learn to play up your favourite parts and dress around the others. I used to really hate my legs, but in an effort to appear taller, I started wearing high heels with shorter skirts, and actually ended up showing off my legs a lot. It was an accident.

Lauren on friendship

What defines a true friend?

Back when I was single I was living with one of my best friends, Jill. I knew a boy I liked was going to be out at this bar. When I came home, she was already asleep. She got out of bed, put on her makeup and heels, and went out with me. That’s a best friend. Of course, I ended up dating that guy for only a second. I should have let her sleep!

What if your boyfriend is jealous of your friends?

The best guy you can date is one who just says, “Have them all over here, and I’ll disappear.” The same goes for you: encourage him to spend time with his friends. Then he’s more likely to want to spend time with you.

What’s been your biggest mistake with friends?

Being on television, I got to look at my own behaviour. One thing I realised is that I was too hard on my friends when it came to guys.

Kourtney’s New Style Inspiration

Kourtney Kardashian has become known for her love of interior design and home decor; Hills2City think the house she shares with boyfriend Scott Disick and children Mason and Penelope is by far our favorite amongst the Kardashian klan.

It seems like we’re not the only ones who think so, as Domaine Home spent the day recently with Kourtney, shopping for vintage decor.  Taking Editorial Director Mat Sanders to her favorite haunts, the eldest Kardashian sister gave her tips when it comes to finding the perfect vintage piece.

Number one is to bring along someone who knows your taste and your home well; they can also help you to act on impulse when you find something you love.  Kourtney adds, “If I want something, I’m no good at haggling because I’m so afraid I’ll lose it!”

She also suggests taking photos to reference, and investing in good quality mirrors.

Kourtney and Scott are actually on the look-out for their next home, one that Kourtney wants to decorate entirely differently than she has for their first home. She shares, “For my next house, I want the complete opposite. No prints, no wallpaper, no color. I want the vibe to be like Something’s Gotta Give with a little Pierre Paulin thrown in.”

Kristin Cavallari Goes Where Others Fear To Tread

kristin 1

Kristin Cavallari has never been one to hold back; now the tv star and Mom of almost two is talking sex during pregnancy.

The new host of The Fabulist is also the April/May 2014 cover girl of Fit Pregnancy magazine, where she talks about keeping things romantic with your partner during pregnancy, staying healthy and why she’s interested in keeping her family as far away from reality tv as possible:

The mom-to-be, who’s expecting their second son in May, adds that it’s “important for women to realize — if your guy is a little weirded out but isn’t good at expressing that, it can be isolating.”

Communication is key, but Cavallari says sexy underthings can’t hurt either. “Lingerie always helps too,” she jokes.

But the fashion designer insists keeping the spark alive isn’t just centered around sex. “It’s important to make time for the relationship. Lighting a candle and taking a bath together is great — it doesn’t even have to be in a sexual way, just getting in the bath and talking,” she says.

“Jay and I have date nights too, going out for dinner. It’s not as often as we’d like, but we do our best. Just putting a cute outfit on is a thrill for me.”

Cavallari, 27, and Cutler, 30, are already parents to 19-month-old son Camden Jack, and the former reality star is thrilled to be raising a family in her younger years.

“It’s cute to see Jay as such a great dad! We’re excited to do this while we’re young,” she explains. “Then when the kids go to college, we can travel and do whatever we want.”

For now, Cavallari is concentrating on the upcoming birth, which she plans on being better prepared for after a few mishaps during her first visit to the maternity ward.

“With Camden I got to the hospital when I was four-and-a-half centimeters dilated — I thought I was dying. We were living in the city, two seconds from the hospital, and now we’re an hour away. So I know the second I feel contractions, we’re going!” she says.

As for her stash of snacks she plans to bring along? After her attempt to keep up her healthy habits during her previous hospital stay, the expectant mom jokes she won’t make the same mistake twice.

“The first time, I brought kale chips with me, which is the last thing you want when you just had a baby. We ended up getting steaks,” Cavallari recalls. “I need better snacks this time. What was I thinking? Bring on the fat, please!”

And while she’s nervous about parenting two under two, Cavallari relishes in her role — and is enjoying the easy aspects of motherhood while she still can.

“My husband tells me I was born to have babies because it comes so naturally to me,” she shares. “I think I’m a good mom in the sense that I’m loving and nurturing, but I also set boundaries.”

She adds, “The hard parenting comes later when we deal with real-life issues. Banging on pots and pans is going to be the least of our worries.”

The mom-of-two speaks from experience, after starring in the teenage drama, Laguna Beach. But, despite shooting to stardom after the show, a second round of reality TV just isn’t in the cards for Cavallari.

“We get reality show offers all the time and we’re like, ‘No,’ ” she says. “Family is so sacred, why mess with that?”
